COVID-19

Dear Valued Douglassville Veterinary Hospital Client—

As of May 14, the CDC has lifted its mask mandate for vaccinated people.  For businesses like ours, this creates many challenges as there is no clear roadmap on how to handle “getting back to normal.”  Believe us when we say, we have missed you so much, and we cannot wait to open our doors to you.  However, to ensure that we are able to continue caring for your pets safely and efficiently, we will continue to operate via curbside appointments only for the time being.

Please note that we are working on a plan to safely reopen our doors, at a limited capacity, by June 14th.  As we know with Covid, things are always changing, and as we receive more information in the weeks to come, we will make appropriate adjustments.  We want to get back to normal as much as you do and ask for your patience as we work towards that goal.

Although we will be allowing clients into the building at that time, we will continue to utilize our current check-in process.  Please reference below the anticipated flow of an appointment:

  1. Upon arrival, please text/call in with the spot number you are in, last name and patients first name. A nurse will then meet you at your car to escort you and your pet into the building.
  2. While in the building we ask that you continue to wear a mask regardless of vaccine status. We appreciate your cooperation/understanding while we continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients, and patients.
  3. Upon completion of the appointment, we kindly ask that you return to your vehicle, with a nurse escort, to wait for any medications to be dispensed, a receptionist to finalize your invoice and complete payment.  Upon payment an invoice and your medications will be brought out to you.  Returning to your vehicle will allow for a smooth transition into the following appointment that is scheduled.

We will monitor and adjust our policy accordingly, but please remember that our priority is the health and safety of your pet and our staff.  This decision is not a reflection of the beliefs of any individual team member at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital so please do not argue with our staff about this decision.

You all have been wonderful throughout this pandemic.  We respectfully ask you to be mindful that our staff is mentally and emotionally exhausted from the last year and we would prefer to spend our energy positively on caring for your pets, as opposed to debating this policy.  Our goal is a return to normal as quickly as we can while keeping our team members safe and comfortable.  We need time to do this and want to thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We will continue to send new information out to you as our policies change so that you can remain informed.  Once again, thank you so much for your continued support and understanding!

With Gratitude,

Your Trusted Douglassville Veterinary Hospital Team
