JoAnn DeWire, VMDJoAnn DeWire, VMD
Dr. JoAnn DeWire graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988, where she was a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honors Society. Dr. DeWire attended Albright College and graduated in 1975 with a BS in Biology and Chemistry. She continued her education by spending one year in Pharmacy School at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Dr. DeWire spent 9 years in private practice before opening Douglassville Veterinary hospital in September of 1997.




Geoff DeWire, DVM
Dr. Geoff DeWire attended veterinary school at the University of California, Davis where he earned the Pfizer Clinical Achievement Award for Excellence in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. DeWire graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts where he majored in Anthropology and fulfilled his pre-veterinary requirements while playing four years of college football. He enjoys snowboarding, drumming, and playing fetch with his best friend Tryspin, his Doberman.




Coleen Beyer, DVM
Dr. Coleen Beyer graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and moved back to Pennsylvania to
be closer to her family. Dr. Beyer is also a graduate of the University of Delaware where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for a few years and worked for Paramount Pictures doing children's educational software. After her time with Paramount, Dr. Beyer moved to San Francisco and began to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She worked as a veterinary technician in San Francisco and
was accepted into UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Beyer loves the outdoors and she spends a
great deal of time riding her 13 year old Thoroughbred, Opie.


Megan Zeigler, VMD

Dr. Megan Zeigler attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College. Dr. Zeigler loves working with small animals but also enjoys activities such as reading, music, crafts, tennis, and camping. Most important to Megan is spending time with her family and her beagle, Art.






Tammy Hammer

Tammy has been a receptionist at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital for the past 5 years and brings with her over 10 years of experience in the Veterinary field. She has been a client at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital since the hospital opened in 1997 and currently has two beautiful Border Collies named Coot and Paulie. Tammy has been married for 23 years and has 2 grown children, a wonderful son in law, and 2 beautiful granddaughters. Tammy is an avid cook and loves yard sales.




Melissa Murphy RN

Missi has been the head technician at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital since 1997. She is a Registered Nurse who graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing around 30 years ago. Nursing people did not provide her with the fulfillment that nursing animals affords, so she became a veterinary technician 20 years ago. Missi is an enthusiastic lover of Pug dogs. She is always willing to tell tales of her rescue Pug “Willie.”





Beth Nyzarak

Beth has been a veterinary technician for over 13 years and has worked at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital since 2002. Beth graduated from Becker Junior college where she majored in Animal Care Management. Beth became certified in Pet First Aid in 2007 and is currently studying to become certified in Canine Rehabilitative Massage. Beth enjoys coaching field hockey at Exeter and watching her two children participate in sports.





Keri LisenBigler CVT
A certified veterinary technician, Keri joined Douglassville Veterinary Hospital in 2003. She was educated at Harcum College, which included practicums at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. After her time at Harcum, Keri worked with a board certified veterinary dentist and practiced advanced dentistry including endodontics and orthodontics on domestic and exotic animals. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a specific interest in dentistry and phlebotomy. Keri is very active in the community and works with the cub scouts, youth groups, and is on the parent-teacher council. Keri loves to garden and spend time with her family, including her 3 cats, and her Retriever mix.


Linda Blohm

Linda has been the head lab technician at Douglassville Veterinary Hospital’s since she started in 1998. She graduatead from Franklin School of Science and Arts in Philadelphia in 1972. Until she joined the veterinary profession, Linda worked as a human medical lab technician. Linda is a fanatical Philadelphia sports fan and loves the Reading Phillies. She owns an Old English Sheep dog named Olivia.

 



Jamie Smith, CVT
Jamie attended the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and became a certified veterinary technician in 2003. Jamie joined Douglassville Veterinary Hospital in 2006. Her veterinary interests include surgery, client education and radiology. Jamie loves football, Nascar, and being outdoors.






Katie Kaucher

A graduate of Oley Valley High School in 1999, Katie joined our hospital in 2002 . When not at work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, including her dog, two cats and her three ferrets. Katie is our hospital’s champion bowler and she enjoys spending time outdoors.
