We have completely renovated a large indoor facility adjacent to our Veterinary Hospital and added the following services:
Grooming:
Douglassville Pet Center has a state of the art grooming suite and several certified groomers available to handle all of your pet’s grooming needs. We provide bathing and grooming as well as nail trimming, ear cleanings, and other grooming needs. Call to schedule an appointment.
Dog Day Care:
While you are away at work or on a day trip, your pet will get plenty of exercise while playing with other well mannered pets under the direct supervision of our staff. Don’t leave your pet at home alone all day, treat your pet to a day of fun and exercise at our facility. Our Dog Day Care supervisors are trained canine behaviorists so your dog will be carefully monitored to ensure a safe and positive environment. Our facility boasts a huge indoor space for your dogs to play and a safe fenced outdoor area for sun and fun. Open Monday through Friday 7AM to 7PM.
Canine Training Classes:
Douglassville Pet Center has three canine behaviorists who specialize in helping you teach your pet the necessary skills they need to live an obedient life in and around your home.
We have puppy classes that help your young pet learn important commands, as well as how to properly interact with other dogs. These classes are valuable in providing tips to house break your pet and learning important commands such as come, sit, lie down, drop, as well as others.
We also have advanced manners classes for adult dogs and one on one behavior consultations to help you with any behavior problems you are experiencing with your pet.
Trainers:
Tammy Hilberg Tammy has been training dogs for 19 years. Currently, she owns Australian Shepherds and competes in Rally, Obedience and Agility. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), an organization that promotes dog-friendly training methods. Over the last 19 years she has attended many seminars with top competitors, behaviorists, veterinarians and marine mammal trainers. She also successfully completed 4 weeks of Operant Conditioning “Chicken Training” workshops in Hot Springs, AR under Bob and Marion Bailey (ABE Enterprises). She has trained and competed with her own dogs in obedience, conformation, Rally-obedience, and agility. She has achieved titles in obedience (CD, CGC, CDX), Rally (NA, ARCH, R1-MCL, R2-MCL, and was ranked in the top 20 dogs in the US in 2003, 2005 & 2006), and agility (OA, OF, OAJ, JS-E, GS-O, RS-O). She has instructed obedience and agility classes for several clubs, and instructs private lessons regularly. Tammy utilizes food, toys, play, management, leashes, crates and a thorough understanding of the canine species to train dogs. Nancy Vanderslice Nancy has been training dogs for many years. Currently she owns 2 Border Collies and 1 Golden Retriever. She is a CGC and S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluator for the American Kennel Club. Over the past years she has competed in Herding Events, Obedience, Agility, Rally and Breed competitions, earning many titles and placements in AKC, USDAA and NADAC venues. Nancy has taught agility for several agility clubs in the area and assisted in obedience classes. Her main goal is to help people build a long and loving relationship with their dogs. She can be found on many hiking trails in the area having fun with her dogs.
